I didn’t understand at all how huge my contribution was to that murderous industries. i have learned the true meaning of compassion, and respect, and i owe it mostly to you. i admire your endless devotion and dedication, and can only hope that there will be a day, when we are only reading about this dark chapter in our history books! thank you for saving me from myself!

I heard about your lecture on youtube from my brother who watched it and became vegan. The day after that I become a vegetarian and after 8 months, a vegan. You are telling the ugly truth to people and put them in front of a mirror. Whenever I have a hard time with my friends or family because of my vegan actions, I see parts of your speeches over again so I can get the power to go on.

I was at your lecture yesterday in Tel Aviv. I’m the guy who shook your hand and told you “I ain’t a vegan, but I just became one.” You opened my mind, to see other things, to be aware of what our species does and who we are now. I’m not gonna stand by and tell my children I did “nothing” when the real holocaust was taking place. I will take an action. You changed my life.

I was pulled into veganism somewhere between the stuffed turkey description and the eye-drop quantity of pus in milk. Now that a year has passed, I am more morally conscious, and strengthened by the ideals more than I was when I was originally did it for health. So I wanted to thank you for dumbing it down for non-vegans as I was myself only a year ago. I wish you a long, healthy and happy life, and serenity because caring takes its toll.

It is easier to keep your blinders on and attack the person bearing the “inconvenient truth” than it is to make change. Regardless, your lectures and activities have succeeded in creating a huge amount of change. The media can shove its microphones where the sun don’t shine. At the end of the day people are listening. I am from Israel. I am a vegan, and absolute love animals. I live with three dogs and two cats. I have raised chickens from young chicks to adulthood in my backyard. They knew my by voice and looks; they ran to me when they saw me and let me pet and hug and kiss them. I have loved cows and adored pigs since I was a baby. I feel their pain. It’s an ache inside that I cannot describe in words. I knew this pain and the helplessness that I feel will stay lodged in my heart forever. That is until you gave me hope. You actually did what was conceived as impossible. You got up and put veganism on the table. It’s the topic on everyone’s tongues.

I don’t think you are a guru or god or whatever. In fact, I don’t agree with your approach sometimes. But it doesn’t matter. When you stood there and told us: “Love me or hate me, I don’t care. Just leave the animals alone” … I fell in love with you.

Two and a half years ago, I was reborn. It happened while I was watching your lecture. Becoming vegan was the most important step I took in my life and since then I consider myself a different person. Thanks to you, I opened my eyes, became a better person and therefore became closer to God. Since then my mother became vegetarian, and just two days ago my boyfriend became vegetarian as well. All of us attended your lecture four days ago in Tel Aviv. Your simple and sincere truth has a great power on people who are willing to change and to face reality. We owe it all to you; the great revolution which is taking place in our country right now! You are their voice and you shall never stop your mission because there is nothing more important in the world than that. Thank God you exist.

Thank you for changing my life. I was vegetarian since I was 7 years old, and I thought I was doing the right thing. Thanks to you I woke up and realized vegetarians don’t have the right to feel good with themselves. My dad (a lawyer) convinced ALL of his clients, friends and our family members to go vegan by showing them your lecture. And he’s now involved in a huge effort by establishing a vegan party to go to the government as soon as possible.

I’m 21 years old from Israel, vegan thanks to you and animals right activist. I became a vegetarian when I was 11 years old. I thought being vegetarian was enough because it never crossed my mind that drinking milk and eating cheese/eggs is causing so much suffering for the animals. I was in the army when I saw your lecture. I have to say you opened my eyes completely. Thanks to you I finally saw the whole truth about that heartless, painful industry. You changed my life! I went to see you in Hadera – your first lecture in a backyard. I witnessed a historical moment! You were so nice, so inspiring, so touching and so convincing.

I went to your lecture last night at Ramat Gan with Dr. Yuval Harari and I must confess that I wanted to hear your response to the events. After hearing your response and to my surprise, I was left speechless and in awe. Your voice on behalf of the oppressed and innocents is so loud and so true that it cannot be avoided and all those that try, by heating up the discussion and using cheap tactics are just trying to avoid and hide from the main issue, their own indiscretions, and the TRUTH!

I am a vegan. I see you as a brave warrior who has changed the minds of a full generation around the world. A true hope for the freedom of all animals. Apart from all those people who decided to go vegan thanks to you, your lectures alone have also encouraged many passive vegans to become active speakers for the rights of those who can’t speak for themselves. In the last year, meat consumption among Israelis has decreased by 9% (guess why!). There are no words that can describe how thankful I am for you. You are a true legend living among us.

I am an Israeli but currently live in the UK. A year and a half ago I saw your lecture and even though I watched the whole lecture I became a vegan within 15 minutes. I think that your comparison to the holocaust is bang on and that is probably what hit the nail in my case. When we were kids, we had holocaust survivors lecturing in our schools. I also knew and talked to holocaust survivors and they said that they can’t stand near a BBQ because the smell of the BBQ is the same smell they experienced in Auschwitz. So next time a reporter ask you these questions feel free to quote me and also check for yourself. Apart from the above, you have changed my life. Because of that nearly my entire Israeli family are now vegan.

Yesterday I listened to your lecture in Tel Aviv. I actually don’t need any convincing regarding Veganism. I came because I thought I might get an answer as to how it is possible to be an animal liberation activist and stay sane. The more you are into fighting against cruelty towards animals and “injustice” as you say, the more you become involved. I just don’t understand how you manage to survive. How is it possible to have this kind of emotional capacity? I’ve read what you’ve done and what you’re still doing, and I just can’t figure out how you’ve managed to still be able to continue doing all of those things, when the world is obviously still full of bad people doing awful things to innocent creatures. How are you not crazy? How can you go on when every corner you have “fried chicken”, “hamburgers”, smiling cows on carton milks? I’d love to know how you manage to just deal.

We met by accident in Neve Tzedek last year, in the street, near Suzane Dellal center. I think it was only a few hours after you’ve landed in Israel. We talked for a while, and I told you I’ve been vegetarian for 25 years, and I know in my heart that I have to be vegan after watching your lecture. I asked you what would you suggest to one like me, and you took a pause, then replied, “just think of the animals”. This sentence, this simple sentence, followed me ever since. The next day I found myself (again, by accident) in your lecture in a closed lecture for reporters only. I came with a friend who’s been a carnivore since I can remember. She couldn’t stop crying during the slaughterhouse movie and made a decision to become vegan after that. In the past week I volunteered to help VEGAN FRIENDLY at 3 of your lectures. Reason for writing is I am trying to show my support in your actions. I guess it’s not easy to be you. You’ve chosen a life that not many would choose. Or, maybe life has chosen you to do that job. I find myself fighting these little wars on a daily basis. Sometimes I win, like the time I convinced a friend to buy palladium shoes instead of leather. Other times I (temporarily) lose. Many of my friends have turned to veganism. Many didn’t. But I surely feel the great change around. Anyway, just wanted to show my support in you. Never give up!
Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2013 12:32 PM
It was important for me to write to you and show my support and appreciation because I think you’re doing something that is SO important but SO exhausting. I wouldn’t be able to handle all the ignorance that exists in the world. Hearing the same questions over and over again, explaining something so simple over and over again; the strength and the patience you have! I’m ashamed to be a part of the human race. I’m ashamed for what I’ve done, all those years I was blind, and I’m just mostly sad that humanity became so cynical, evil, detached, stupid, blind and apathetic. I wish you power of mind, peace of mind and inner strength to continue and fight for all the animals.
