I came across your video from an article in our student magazine at Ben Gurion University in Israel. After watching your lecture, you’ve exposed me to new views, particularly on the ethical level. During my military service I was trained as a sniper, and so I’ve thought at length about the question of “who has the right to take another’s life.” I had never included animals in these thoughts, as it is very easy to disregard them as “not human,” but here is the crux of the whole issue. If we disregard them, then why do we feel compassion towards them, and why do we squirm at the sight of their slaughter? There must be a source for this hypocrisy.

I started going vegan on my own, but I had a lot of problems and I was going to give up. I really was. But then I say your video. Now that I know the true absolute force of what’s happening, I can’t go back to meat or milk or eggs EVER AGAIN! I’m so thankful. In a little over a month, I lost 14 pounds. In a little over a month, I became healthier. In a little over a month, I learned about you and started saving both the environment and the animals if not the world you and I care about. All in all, I’m 13 years old and I’ve convinced my mom, my friend’s whole family, and 2 other friends to become vegan. I can’t stand the atrocity anymore. I used to want to be a surgeon. After watching you, I want to copy you. I wanna be a nutritionist and a non-profit speech person like you are. You changed my life.

I’ve been a vegetarian for some time, but knew that veganism was where it was at. Even before I heard your speech I was planning on going vegan later on in life. You’ve made it painfully clear that the time is now.
