Yesterday, one of the biggest customer database panels reported that just in 2013, 4% of our entire population became vegetarian and 5% went vegan. This is to an addition to the 4% who were vegetarians and vegans before 2013, which means we have a total of 13% now. Over one million citizens in our little country. The research also shows that 18% of our population reduced the consumption of dairy products and 23% have reduced their consumption of meat. The seeds of your work in Israel are germinating and soon will be turned into flowers, flowers of hope for our animal friends. Here is the article as it appeared in the Israel newspaper GLOBES: http://www.globes.co.il/news/article.aspx?did=1000906210#FromSearchPage.

I wanted to tell you that I am now vegan for the past month. I saw your famous lecture a few months ago and then the lecture you did with Yuval Harari in Israel (10.12.13). It was much harder to listen to your lecture, to actually be with you in the same room, than watching it on the Internet. The affect was much more and it had more impact on me. I got really emotional. I am so glad I came to that event. Thank you for opening my eyes, I am so glad I am doing the right thing for the animals and my health also.

I have just watched one of your lectures on YouTube and I must say you have completely changed my perspective on veganism. I am currently writing a research paper for my Ethics class at the University of New York in Prague about the ethics of vegetarianism and veganism, and I watched your lecture for insight.

I am from Israel. I saw your presentation, and I really don’t know what to say. I’ve always thought that something was wrong with our world. I now understood what. It’s hard to believe that I am a killer. We are blind. They feed us animals that never did anything bad to anyone for fucking money. I’m only 13 years old. I am pretty confused. I just can’t believe that humanity is blind and only a few have a vision of what’s really going on.

I’m from Israel. I’m 18 years old. I have been a vegetarian for about a year, and two months ago, after I viewed your lecture online, I started a vegan diet. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you as a person, and what you are doing. You showed me the cruelty and oppression that animals go through every day in the egg and dairy industry, and without your help I would still be harming animals without even knowing it!

I am 14 years old, and live in Israel, and am some kid you have chance because YOU changed my life. YOU gave me the chance to live compassionately and healthy early on in my life. I saw your lecture last year. I am an old style vegan. I don’t eat vegan burgers and vegan cheese and all that stuff. I like the veggies and fruits and grains better. One of my passions these days is cooking rice. Keep doing what you do. It is the beginning of saving our planet and our species. And my parents are almost vegan too. Only my big brother is not. But I fulfill my job as his little brother to nag him about it.

I am 15 , and live in Israel. I saw your lecture about the killing and exploitation of animals for human needs . I cannot explain the energy that was transferred to me from your words. I suffer from obesity because all my parents fed me when I was little was pizza and burgers. I want to stop for the animals.

How beautiful the difference you are making in this life. Just wanted to share what a friend did in Israel: “We just did a pilot program of paying a dollar to anyone who was willing to watch the Gary Y video. It had an amazing effect on people, and most of them weren’t able – nor willing – to go back and eat the stuff they used to eat. It was definitely a big success, and this summer we’re going full power on that. We recently found out that about 10% of the population is vegetarian and 5% are vegan, and the numbers keeps growing. Most of my patients gained better health, thanks to vegan nutrition, and they keep thanking me, and spreading the vegan way to everyone they care about. One of our biggest and most famous restaurants went vegan. It was all over the news and made a big buzz. I hope that many other restaurants will follow.”
